7/Eleven was founded in 1927 as an ice and beverage stand in Dallas, 7-Eleven first launched its 24/7 store in 1960 and rapidly became a success. Now its business model is copied by many competitors.

In the year 1980, the company expanded its operations and opened stores in Sweden, Norway, Taiwan, and other popular countries. Sadly, 7-Eleven’s parent company ran into financial loss in the same year due to the stock market crash.

° DID YOU KNOW THE REASON BEHIND THE STORE'S NAME? ~ In 1946 the stores were renamed 7-Eleven to call attention to their extended hours of operation—from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, seven days a week. About the late 1950s, Southland began to expand beyond Texas, opening 7-Eleven stores on the East Coast. John P. Thompson(Joseph Thompson's son), became president in 1961 and further expanded operations in the United States and elsewhere. However, starting in 1963 some outlets stayed open 24 hours a day, and the following year the company began to franchise its stores. Today, 7-Eleven is one of the most popular franchises with more than 45, 000 stores across the globe, and here in the Philippines we have 3, 323 stores all over the country.

What makes 7/Eleven (particularly here in Teresa) a good convenience store?

• Well, first, it's open 24/7, it means ANYTIME you're gonna crave for a burger, a chicken or even sushi, you can buy it at 7/Eleven. Also, lots of 7/Eleven stores are close to schools hence it's the perfect place for students after school, just like what was said above.

• Second, 7/Eleven offers budget friendly meals and drinks that anyone can afford.

• Lastly, the store is clean, comfortable, and the ambience was very inviting and pleasant to the customers.
